Some homes just have a lot of charm and the last thing a smart owner and contractor want to do is lose the charm of the home when you are doing a major renovation. The Owners of this Cape style home needed bedrooms on their second level and a Family room for their growing family but they did not want to change the appearance of the home from the street. We were able to accomplish this by using an almost flat roof on the rear of the home. This allowed us to add the needed bedrooms and bathrooms, but the front of the home and the total height of the roofline was not changed. The existing garage was converted to a large Family room and a new detached garage was added.
